The players draw a hand of cards from the shared deck. Card play determines when units may move, attack, or defend. Poker type mechanics. Victory: The first player to win 5 turns wins the battle. Background: Each player controls a band of rival Celtic Warriors. Each game represents a battle between these opposed Tribes.

Each hand represents a Champion: His weapons, traits, etc. Each turn represents a duel between 2 Champions. The winner of the turn takes the severed head of the losing Champion.? This game of Celtic Warriors employs an ancient method of entrapment know as "Custodian Capture" , a ploy which dates back many thousands of years.

It lacks a lot of strategy, as movement depends on luck of the draw. However, knowing when to move which druid can be tricky, and there's a minor amount of 'screw-the-other-guy' play available.
